Canada is the second biggest country in the world, so it is not surprising that it is home to some of the most beautiful sweeping landscapes, culturally advances cities and awesome attractions on the planet.
If you have visited the Official Canada ETA website to sort out your travel documentation, and you’re now looking to take a trip, take a look at this great list of unmissable attractions that you will want to visit when you finally touch down in Canada:
Niagara Falls
Obviously, you can’t take a trip to Canada without making an effort to see what is quite possibly the country’s most famous attraction. Millions of people visit the impressive 57-meter waterfall every year, and that many people just can’t be wrong.
As well as being inspired by the rapid falls, you will get to enjoy a fun walk down the Clifton Hill to the gorge, and you could well witness one of the many daredevils who flock there each year as they carry out another act of derring-do.
Banff National Park and the Rocky Mountains
Banff National Park benefits from the fact that it is located slap bang in the middle of the impressive Rocky Mountains with their majestic views of the Canadian wilderness. The park itself boasts crystal clear lakes, interesting icefields, excellent skiing opportunities and more wildlife than you can imagine. It is a great place to visit, camp, hike, and play.
The CN Tower
The CN Tower is an impressive attraction in its own right, being the biggest building in Canada, but the real reason why so many people flock there is for the awe-inspiring views they can marvel at from the top of the 553-meter building. While you’re there, be sure to eat at 360 – the tower’s revolving restaurant which boasts views out over the city.
Ottawa’s Parliament Hill
Ottawa’s Parliament Hill looms high over the Ottawa River where you will find the Parliament buildings. Designed in the Neo-Gothic style, these buildings are architecturally and culturally interesting – In 1966, the buildings were lit up in commemoration of the Canadian Confederation’s centenary. The best time to visit Parliament Hill is in the summer when you can witness the changing of the Guard if the weather is good, before taking a pretty stroll along the beautiful Ottawa River.
Old Montreal
The old part of Montreal is a sight to behold. Lined with countless quaint old buildings, restaurants where you can eat fine food and excellent shopping facilities, you can find something for all the family there. Highlights of any trip to Old Montreal include taking a horse-drawn carriage ride through the ancient cobbled streets and a trip to the Notre-Dame Basilica with its beautiful décor.
Gros Morne National Park
Gros Morne National Park is one of Canada’s remotest national parks, as you can see at GroseMorn.com. However, you should make an effort to visit the beautiful Newfoundland location if you want to be impressed by imposing cliffs, pretty waterfalls, impressive glaciers and wilderness boat tours.
